SCAR has been designed to meet the specific needs of the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM), the Special Operations Command U.S. Army, for which the XM8, which is expected to become the standard rifle of the U.S. Army insufficient. The SOCOM is seeking a weapon that can be converted on the ground for several sizes to provide its troops to a weapons system to handle the same simplifying maintenance and logistics but nonetheless perfectly adapted to different missions. SCAR should thus be provided in two versions, the SCAR-L (light), which is chambered in 5.56 NATO and SCAR-H (Heavy) which is chambered in 7.62 NATO. SCAR-H will also be available in a version chambered for the 7.6239mm, the ammunition of AK-47 and will receive its cartridge. That in order to allow troops operating behind enemy lines to use the ammunition available. Upon receipt of the package, print quality and high-end product arises. The box is not a simple cardboard stamped with the name of its contents but a very nice matte black packaging, which contains beautiful illustrations of the various possible versions of the replica (grenade launchers, sniper guns long / short ...). The replica is highlighted in the box (weird perfectionism as a strong brand cheap polystyrene inside the box is covered with a layer of black cardboard and hiding around the replica props.) It is very robust and no sound is heard when you shake the reply. The upper body is metal (chameleon paint brown to khaki), it includes the hop-up (adjustable) accessible by pulling the lever. The lower body is ABS, the finish is very correct, despite some signs of molding (a light sanding will solve this problem). More light (sand), the body of the reply does not, however, clashes of the upper body. The stock opens, revealing the housing for the battery (8.4 V 9.6 but can easily accommodate them). Again, the strength and quality of finish are waiting for you, with a rest is fairly easy and an adjustable stock (3 positions) and folding. In a compact (butt folded), the reply is rather balanced and not interfere with shooting. However, in this position, the arch prevents access to the eject button on the charger. The replica is a good noise, you can almost hear the engine running, only the explosions are heard in a thunderous CLAC. The long barrel and a silencer mitigate that. After the break-in period for parts and motor, no misfeed or problems, although the magazine is a bit long in coming.
