The Desert Eagle is a semiautomatic pistol caliber gas-operated shooting, designed in the U.S. by Magnum Research and manufactured primarily in Israel by IMI (Israel Military Industries), now Israel Weapons Industry. The production was moved to Saco Defense in Maine between 1996 and 2000, hence the name century, but returned to Israel when Saco was acquired by General Dynamics.
