A rifle or a pump-action shotgun is the weapon where the forearm has to be slid back and forth, to eject the fired cartridge and insert a new cartridge into the chamber thereof. Charging system is a lot faster than the bolt or lever, also not requiring removal of the stock the hand pulling the trigger to reload. It is also commonly called the sliding action. The term is also applied to various airsoft guns and air guns that use a similar mechanism to load a pellet and compress the piston spring, or pneumatic guns that use a pump to compress air for the shot. The cadence of a pump-action gun, but smaller than a semi-automatic is pretty fast. Manual operation allows the pump-action gun cartridges use different power, such as non-lethal, which is not possible recoil operated weapons or gas fire. The simplicity of a gun with pump action compared with a semiautomatic also increases durability and reduces costs. It also noted that the time required for charging allows the shooter to select a new target, thus avoiding unnecessary use of ammunition. A pump-action firearm is typically fed from a tubular tank located under the barrel, which in turn serves as a guide for mobile fore, although some models (like the Remington 760 rifle and its successors) are fed via removable magazines. The cartridges are introduced into the tubular shell one by one through an opening in the receiver, being pushed forward. A latch on the back of the tank holding the cartridges in to the moment of being employed. If you want to fully charge the gun, you can enter a cartridge into the chamber through the discharge opening or upload one from the tank by the action and introducing one in the tank. There are pump-action shotguns with magazines and even fueled by drums, which may or may not allow the introduction of magazine without having to eject the first round of this. Almost all the weapons with pumping action needed to move the forearm back and forth to reload. The forearm is connected to the bolt by one or two bars, two bars is considered better because they exert symmetrical forces on the bolt and the forearm, thereby reducing the chances of blockage. The back and forth movement of the bolt in a model tubular fed from a reservoir also activates the elevator, going up the cartridges from the reservoir to the chamber. After firing a cartridge, the bolt is disengaged and the forearm can move. The handle slides back the forearm so you can reload the weapon. This causes the lock to disengage and move back, extracting and ejecting the fired cartridge from the chamber, arming the hammer and starting to load a new cartridge. In a tubular tank weapon, while the bolt moves backward, a new cartridge is removed from the tank and pushed the elevator. When the forearm reaches the end of its travel and starts to be slid forward, the elevator goes up a new cartridge and it aligns with the chamber.By moving the bolt forward, it pushes the cartridge into the chamber and the fore end of the journey makes this close. Pulling the trigger fires the cartridge and the cycle restarts. Most pump-action guns have no means of indicating to them over the ammunition, allowing the shooter to have the empty gun without realizing it. The risk of running out of ammunition unexpectedly can be reduced by keeping tubular tank weapon always full, inserting a new cartridge into this after every shot. This is especially important during a hunt, as several places legally limited tank capacity: for example, three rounds for a rifle and five cartridges to a gun. The pump-action shotguns with modern, such as the Remington 870 and Mossberg 500, have a security feature called trigger disconnector, which disconnects the hammer as the bolt back, making this must be pressed again to close the bolt . Many early pump-action shotguns, as the Winchester 1897, did not have trigger disconnectors, and could fire immediately after the bolt is kept closed when the trigger. Some shooters believe that this allows a higher rate of fire, preferring models without this feature as the Ithaca 37 shotguns and Winchester Model 1912.
